And here is Rainbow Rocks short #4! This short it simply a music video featuring the entire Mane 6 cast, and features the song "Shake Your Tail from the original Rainbow Rocks preview. Of an interesting note: the preview trailer for Rainbow Rocks seems to be composed of more and more clips from the short rather than the movie itself. Interesting. Director Ishi Rudell has already confirmed that all of the shorts--including this one and it's song--are not from the movie at all, and are stand-alone. That's rather fascinating being that everyone assumed this song was from the movie itself when it appeared in the original trailer.

Anyway onto the song! "Shake Your Tail" is a group-pop song, much like "Equestria Girls (Helping Twilight Win the Crown)" from the original movie, although this song has a faster tempo, and utilizes more keyboard. If you aren't such a fan of pop music, you probably won't like it. However, while the lyrics of the chorus are a little stale, the backing beat and chorus are quite fun. I really enjoy the keyboard backing parts in this song.

*****Technical notes*****: I've done my best to remaster the quality of this track by ear during the editing process. The audio from the YouTube video was rather flat, so I tried to bring out the bass and vocals a little better. I think the end result definitely sounds clearer and higher-quality, allowing you to hear higher-pitched parts, such and the cymbals and keyboards better, as well as a fuller bass.

As with the previous shorts, this one was released in Youtube-quality and in mono, so there's only so much I can do. Of note--since this track is in mono, there is absolutely no way to currently get any sort of instrumental for the song, which absolutely sucks. Hopefully we'll see a 5.1 digital release soon. If not, here's to hoping they're on the Rainbow Rocks Blu-Ray. As I've said before, as soon as these shorts are released with 5.1 audio, I will reupload better quality tracks for all of the shorts, as well as additional BGM/Instrumentals I was not able to get before, such as for this song.
